Marissa is an award-winning radio and print journalist, whose stories have been featured by NPR, Reveal, Latino USA, The California Report Magazine, and High Country News magazine, among others. She’s the recipient of a Public Media Journalists Association award and numerous awards from the Northern California Society for Professional Journalists. She’s received support from fellowships like the CU Boulder’s Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism, and UC Berkeley-11th Hour Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship. She came to radio with a decade of work experience in science and environmental education. Marissa has been traveling in wilderness for over 20 years, guiding trips, conducting scientific field work, and backpacking for fun.
Lisa Morehouse, Editor.
Lisa Morehouse is an award-winning public radio reporter and editor. She produces California Foodways, a county-by-county exploration of stories at the intersection of food, culture, history, labor and the environment, which airs on KQED’s The California Report Magazine, and national shows like All Things Considered. The series received a national Edward R. Murrow Award and four James Beard nominations. Morehouse is also the Senior Editor for KALW Public Radio’s news magazine, Crosscurrents.
Gabe Grabin, Sound Design and Editor.
Gabe Grabin is an independent audio producer. He was the engineer at KALW’s news magazine, Crosscurrents, where his work won multiple awards from the Northern California Society for Professional Journalists. In 2019, a story he produced was awarded “Best Use Of Sound” by the National Public Media Journalism Association. He engineered and co-edited an episode of The Intersection podcast which was named one of IndieWire magazine’s 10 best podcast episodes of 2020.
